At The Black Farmer, our ribeye steaks are sourced from local farms in Wiltshire, Somerset, and the South West. Our free-range cattle are grass-fed and live in the beautiful British countryside, ensuring that our meat is not only delicious but also ethically and sustainably produced.

Is Beef Ribeye Good for Steak?

Yes, ribeye is one of the best cuts for steak lovers. It is prized for its marbling, which melts into the meat as it cooks, creating a juicy, tender, and flavourful steak.

How is Ribeye Best Cooked?

Ribeye is best cooked over high heat, whether grilled, pan-seared, or broiled, to achieve a delicious crust while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Cooking it to medium-rare or medium ensures the perfect balance of flavour and texture.

Which is Better: Sirloin or Ribeye Steak?

Ribeye is typically more marbled and flavourful, while sirloin is leaner and has a milder taste. Ribeye is often preferred for its tenderness and rich flavour, whereas sirloin is a great choice for those who prefer a leaner cut.

    STORAGE ADVICE

To maintain the quality and freshness of your Ribeye Steak, it is recommended to store it in the refrigerator at a temperature of 32°F to 40°F (0°C to 4°C). Keep the steak in its original packaging or place it in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag to prevent any exposure to air or potential cross-contamination. Stored correctly, Ribeye Steak can be refrigerated for up to 3-4 days. If you want to extend its shelf life, you can also freeze the steak. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or place it in a freezer-safe bag or container. Frozen Ribeye Steak can maintain its quality for approximately 6-12 months. When ready to cook, thaw the steak in the refrigerator before preparing it for the best results.

    COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Here’s cooking instruction for Ribeye Steak:

    1. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to high heat. Make sure it’s well heated before you start cooking.
    2. Take the Ribeye Steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This will allow the steak to cook more evenly.
    3. Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper, or your favorite steak seasoning. Rub the seasoning into the meat to ensure it adheres well.
    4. Place the Ribeye Steak on the grill or in the hot pan. For medium-rare, cook it for about 4-5 minutes per side. Adjust the time based on your desired level of doneness.
    5. Flip the steak using tongs, not a fork, to avoid piercing the meat and losing its juices. Continue cooking for the same amount of time on the other side.
    6. To check the doneness of the steak, use a meat thermometer. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be around 135°F (57°C). Remember, the temperature will rise a few degrees as the steak rests.
    7. Once the steak reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the grill or pan and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and results in a more tender and flavorful steak.
    8. After resting, slice the Ribeye Steak against the grain into thin slices. This helps to ensure tenderness.
    9. Serve your delicious Ribeye Steak with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!

Remember, cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the steak and the heat source you’re using. Adjust accordingly to achieve your preferred level of doneness.
